My Story

My journey to becoming a "Sleep Activist" wasn't planned in a therapy or classroom; it was forged in some of the most demanding environments imaginable.

It began with 23 years of service in the British Army. In that world, sleep isn't a luxury; it's a tactical necessity. I coined a simple rule: "If in doubt, bag out." It meant If there was nothing else you were supposed to be doing, you got in your sleeping bag and slept at every possible opportunity, because you never knew when the next chance would come. It was my first, raw lesson in looking after others knowing the vital importance of strategic rest, for maximum performance.

After the Army came 14 years in the Police, which brought with it a brutal introduction to the world of shift work to me in my early 40s. I lived with the constant, grinding fatigue that so many people experience today. It was more than just feeling tired; it was a fog that impacted my mood, my health, and my decision-making.

My perspective crystallised when I became responsible for training first responders for multi day deployments to national emergencies in hazardous environments. For the first time, I saw sleep not just as a personal struggle, but as a fundamental pillar of professional performance and safety. I saw how a lack of sleep was a direct threat to the lives of my colleagues and the public we served.  Sleep education and management became another spoke of the response cycle.

Since leaving the police, I have been involved in the training and the management of sleep for Professional vehicle drivers and more recently train drivers and their manager and senior management teams within safety critical roles.

As my knowledge and experience grow, I knew I had to do more.

That's why I founded the Sleep Well Hub.

Today, I've taken those real-world lessons and combined them with extensive qualifications in the most effective, evidence-based sleep therapies available. I am qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the clinical gold standard for treating insomnia. BUT, I go beyond CBT(I), I am also a Master Practitioner of NLP, Master of Time Line Therapy and Master of Hypnotherapy and a Coaching Master, for Results Based Coaching, which gives me a vast tool box to help clients dismantle the deep-seated anxiety and negative thought patterns that so often lie at the heart of their sleep problems.

This unique blend of real-world experience and clinical expertise allows me to go far beyond the standard advice you'll find online or in a single modal sleep clinic. I don't just look at your sleep; I work on your mindset. I don't just give you tips; I give you a complete system. I empower you to help yourself, once your time with me ends.

My mission is simple: to give you the tools to escape the nightly battle, reclaim your energy, and start winning your day. I have the experience and knowledge to quickly reduce your sleep issues and whatever is driving them.  Your issues are as unique as you are, your role or position might make it more difficult for you to ask for help, but I can help if your ready to make changes in your life. Some issues are gender specific, I can help there too. In short, I can help you. I understand the problem, and I have a plan to solve it.

Sleep activist? I’m on a mission, I want to help you, but I also want to stop some working practices that harm workers in regard to their sleep (The percentage of people working outside of traditional office hours increases year on year currently that's over 35% of all workers), and even moving the clocks backwards and forwards twice a year artificially, increases harm to all of us.

Let's start your journey to enable you to Sleep Well.
